Here at the BrownHouse Interiors, apart from our Battersea retail store and our online shop we also run a full interior design service named INTERIOR DESIGN AT THE BROWNHOUSE INTERIORS In fact the interior design business is how we started.

IN THE BEGINNING

INTERIOR DESIGN AT THE BROWNHOUSE INTERIORS began many years ago when our owner Wayne Brown decided to take a sabbatical from his job and refurbish his own home. Previously he managed luxury retail stores in central London and was instrumental in the opening of Pringle of Scotland in Bond Street and Gucci in Selfridges. This experience would come in very useful in the future.

After completing the home refurbishment so many people gushed and said that he should do this as a carrier, after much deliberation he decided to take the plunge and enrolled at the British association of interior design to do a course so as to learn the more important and difficult parts of the business.

After the course had finished he still did not have the nerve to go it alone and decided to work for a large interiors retail store in Belgravia in London. This allowed him even more hands on experience in the business and learned more about how things are done in the real world.

“He finally left and decided that he could start on his own , initially in a small way working from home and undertaking small and large projects predominantly in London but also a number of assignments in IBIZA where INTERIOR DESIGN AT THE BROWNHOUSE INTERIORS Ibiza was born.”

THE SHOP AND STUDIO

In 2019 it was decided that working from home was not the way forward and an office/studio should be set up to accommodate the office and create a specific meeting place for clients.

The search began and ended with a chance meeting. A few months prior there was a local shop in Battersea that was empty and he enquired with the landlord about acquiring that unit. Sadly the unit he was interested in had already been let though and so it did not happen.

He bumped into the landlord and was asked if he might still be interested in a shop, he asked which one , where and all the usual questions and decided to go for it as it was just a couple of doors away from the original one he had enquired about before. Interior design atThe BrownHouse Interiors finally had a home. INTERIOR DESIGN AT THE BROWNHOUSE INTERIORS is based at 42 Queenstown Road, London , SW8 3RY within the Brownhouse Interiors retail shop, this is where we can display products , run our website and online shop as well as hold interior design meetings with clients.
